Project Area of Specialization RoboticsProject SummaryOur project is to design a gripper actuator for the purpose of efficient orange picking. this will achieved by following the course of soft grippers technology which is of importance nowadays. using silicone rubber we are designing our gripper and to analise its working using ansys to be able to perform this task. Its actuation process will be studied and controlled using various sensors and a pneumetic system to perform its action. we are targeting our countries argricultural sector and and trying to improve this task of fruit picking by automating it to decrease man load and increase the productivity and quality also.
Project Objectivesour objective is to design a precise automated mechanical gripper for orange picking.
to determine the stress bearing capacity of soft gripper while performing this task
its complete performance and stress strain analysis.
Project Implementation Method- we started our project by desgining the basic structure and layout of our gripper and its working.
- then a schematic diagram was drawn.
- then according to that desgin a mold was desgined and then made.
- compression testing of oranges was done to determine their load bearing capacity
- using that the safe load and pressure was calculated for our pneumetic system.
- then its analysis was done on ansys to study the behaviour of our gripper.
- next we will use to mold to make our soft gripper
- then pneumetic system we will be desgined and compressor selection
- then we will use the sensors and ardino to control our grippers working
- after this complete farication process we will begin with the testing of our product and its market compatibility and place.
- to automate the fruit picking process
- to reduce the burden on human labour
- this will be a better way of fruit picking without damaging it
- it will help us increase the quality of the fruits
- less time will be consumed for the same picking task
it will be an automated gripper actuator.
using the air pressure the gripper will bend and inflate to perform its gripping action
blades will be added at the finger tips to cut the stem
the sensors will help in monitoring its action and the applied pressure on the oranges
and will stop from extra or less load to be applied
