Project Summary

Development of Quad copter is essential for today era. This is now getting popular now a day and they are now widely used for filming, cinematography, agricultural use, for protection and for surveillance. Surveillance quad copters are the new concept that can be used for military purpose as well as for civil securities purposes. Quad Copter have taken place of UAV now a days this device work on a simple principle which is that it have four motors, two of them moves in clockwise direction and rest of the two moves in anti-clockwise direction. The reason behind this phenomenon is that we have to make a stable and clean flight so that why we need to do that the other reason to do this physics if we make motors run in same direction maybe it will lose its yaw control and our drone will be out of control and it will be crash.

Project Objectives

Our main objective to implement this project that we get

  • clean and stable flight
  • surveillance

We added some commands which are rare and expensive to be used. These commands include

  1. Auto landing
  2. Returning to home feature.
  3. Altitude hold position

Project Implementation Method

  1. First we will finalize the calculations of the hardware in which Motors, ESC's, Propellers size, Flight controller, etc.
  2. Then we assemble all equipment’s on the frame name as X-shape (model F450).
  3. Then we calibrate motors, esc's, compass, barometer, gyroscope with help software named as Mission Planner.
  4. Then attach the GPS and check whether it is getting connection with satellite or not.
  5. Then check the radio transmitter and receiver properly.
  6. Then check the Telemetry transmitter.
  7. For the viewing purpose we will use FPV GOGGLES of EACHINE COMPANY (EV 800).
  8. Then attach the battery of 5200 mAH on the top of frame tightly.
  9. Recheck all components and check the tight connections properly.
  10. then we will make the first attempt of hovering.
  11. we know we will fail several times but we will succeed at the end INSHAALLAH.

Benefits of the Project

  • This quad rotor will enable the surveillance department to keep an eye on required places without deploying manpower.
  • This quad copter will also use for spying enemies on territorial boundaries.
  • Furthermore, in future it can be converted into armed copter for surveillance on the international boundaries of the state.
  •  We can use it for the bio-medical services.

Technical Details of Final Deliverable

Flight controller is to stabilize the whole drone at any cost and this can be done by attaching gyro sensor. We are using also have the gyro sensor and accelerant sensor and the value of those we receive on the computer screen we attach telemetry module for this function. The processor we are using in this is ATMEGA 644PA. The main function of this board is to control the speed of electronic devices which can further control the speed of motors that we are using in our drone. The main thing is here that we have to match the RPM of the motors with each other in order to stabilize.
