Used in wireless power transmission systems.

Project ObjectivesAs Rectenna rectify the RF Energy so it can be used for transferring the energy and can power up the small devices like low power IOT sensors.
Rectenna also used in RFID tags, Proximity cards and contactless smart card.
The objective of this project is to power up a low power sensor.
Project Implementation MethodRectenna has two parts:
Antenna and Rectifier.
Antenna intercepts the RF signals at frequency 2.4 GHz and act as a transducer and convert the RF signals to high frequency AC signals.
Rectifier rectify the AC signal to DC. Output of rectifier is not smooth DC so a low pass filter is used to filter out the remaining pulsations and give the smooth DC at load.
Benefits of the ProjectRectennas are applicable in wireless power transfer, in wireless sensor network also power up the IOT sensors and now for modern mobile design for 5G research is on going to power up the mobile without charging the battery. Rectenna used to rectify the RF Power and continuously charge the battery.
The benefits of this rectenna is that it can power up the low power sensors so it can be implemented in wireless sensor network
Technical Details of Final DeliverableFinal deliverable contains Hardware of Antenna and rectifying circuit. Wide slot Antenna is designed on Low loss Rogers RT/duroid 5880 Laminate sheet. Schottky diodes are used for Rectifying circuit.
