Design and Development of POC model of HPL based DEW in a limited domain
Drones as every new emerging technology has introduced many threats and risks to human society. With the advancement of anti-jammers has made this technology quite invincible. Directed Energy weapons are used for this purpose. One of type of DEWs is laser based DEW in which highly focused laser beam is being aimed at target. In the project, 10 W blue laser is being focused on digital camera for physical burning of camera. As camera is considered a special eye for reconnaissance missions of drones. The focusing system has a convex lens and we can also adjust the focus by using adjustment lens system in which a movable concave lens is placed between two fixed convex lenses. Furthermore, saturation of drone camera was also performed. As an additional deliverable a laser gun has been made by keeping in view the above constraints. Laser gun has also been tested on different materials like polystyrene, artificial leather and cardboard. This is just the beginning of new era of laser technology.
Drones are giving great threat to human society and also great threat for millitary purpose as well as the missiles that are required to target them are very expensive than drones. There is need of a cheaper technology and also advancement of anti-jammers have made it quite invincible. Lasers as DEWs are used in this threat.
This is divided in to three parts:
1)High power laser source:
10 W blue laser is our laser source having wavelength of 450 nm. It is not powerful enough to burn out composites but it can burn other things like cardboard, polystyrene, artificial leather and sensors as well.
2)Focusing lens system:
To get good results lasers are being focused by using convex lens of appropriate focal length. I have converging lens of focal length of 1000mm.
3) Adjustment lens system:
The focus can be altered by using adjustment lens system. There is adjustable concave lens of focal length of -400mm between two fixed converging lenses.
This project is quite benefit as it gives a new way or new field to explore. Furthermore this technology is quite cheaper than other ground to air weapons. This is very good as far as millitary purposes are concerned.
