To reduce the time taken to perform a trivial, yet essential, operation of pick and place; a delta robot is to be designed and developed as it is much quicker, accurate and precise as compared to a human being. The robot must be cost effective in both purchase and maintenance.
Project ObjectivesTo reduce the time taken to perform a trivial, yet essential, operation of pick and place; a delta robot is to be
designed and developed as it is much quicker, accurate and precise as compared to a human being. The robot
must be cost effective in both purchase and maintenance.
The detection of moving objects on the conveyor belt will be captured by machine vision camera and the coardinates of the centroid of the object will be given to the Controller which will be further attached to Motor drivers and pick place mechanism will be performed.
Benefits of the ProjectIndustries that take advantage of the high speed of delta robots are the packaging industry, medical and pharmaceutical industry. For its stiffness it is also used for surgery. Other applications include high precision assembly operations in a clean room for electronic components.
Technical Details of Final DeliverableFinal Deliverable of the project will be the end of May 2020.
