Project Summary

A UGV is a vehicle that operates without an onboard human presence while in contact with ground. A Fire Fighting UGV automatically detects the fire and extinguish it. It eliminates the fire before it spread away to avoid the catastrophic effects. It is a good replacement of fireman in dangerous places as it reduces the efforts of human labor and level of destruction. 

Project Objectives

  • To design and develop a system for locomotion of Unmanned Ground Vehicle
  • To design and develop a fire detection System
  • To design and develop a fire extinguishing system

Project Implementation Method

The implementation methodology of this project starts with literature review related to Fire fighting unmanned ground vehicle.

  • With the help of literature, sensors are selected for detection of fire, measurement of distance and level indication of water tank.
  • Next step is to interface these sensors with micro-controller ESP32 to get the value of above-mentioned parameters.
  • Simulation of electrical circuitry will be designed on software (protues) along with the programming.
  • Controlling device is to be developed for controlling and monitering the unmanned ground vehicle. 
  • ESP32 camera with builtin Wifi/Bluetooth module is interfaced with micro-controller for transmission of camera's live streaming on the controlling device.
  • Hardware assembly is to be completed for testing the vehicle.

  • Protect fire fighter's lives by remotely controlling fire fighting robots in hazardous conditions.
