Design and Development of Automatic car wash station using PLC
With the increasing speed of life, the demand to perform tasks at higher speed is also increased. in modern world technology has linked each town city and country with each other through means of transportation. This has led to massive increase in number of vehicles so to clean these vehicles there is a need of proper washing system and the problem encountered in car washing is the time consumption. time is important that needs to be managed effectively and efficiently in order to increase productivity. so this project is developed is to reduce the time and manpower. in this project we are using conveyor belt on which customer stops the car and the Infrared sensor is used to detect the car presence and starts the conveyor belt when the car reaches the next station the infrared sensor(IR) will detect the car and starts the showers and stop the conveyor belt similarly at different stations when a car is detected it will use soap, brushes and dryer to clean the car.
Car washing is simple activity done in order to keep the exterior of the car clean. Mostly it is done manually in automobile garage or service centers of automobile companies. This Manual Way of Cleaning Car Results in more consumption of water manpower and time.The main objective of this project is to perform the exterior washing of the car automatically by saving the manpower as it is automatic so no need of more than two workers on station and it will also save the water.
our car washing system has mainly three main process namely washing, cleaning and drying. hence the exterior of car will be washed by detecting the car on conveyor belt infrared sensor is used for car detection as the car is detected the conveyor belt starts moving and it will stop when the next station is arrived on the next station infrared sensor is used for detection and similarly washing and cleaning process will be done in order of first the washing is done with the saop water then comes the brushes section where brushes are used to clean the car exterior and then again comes the washing process where car exterior is washed to rinse off the soap water and in the last process drying fans are used to dry the exterior of the car. all the process are controlled by the use of Programmable logical controller (PLC).
The main benefits of the project are:
the final deliverable of the project will be the hardware system that is capable of washing the model car. all the procees that are explained above will be done. Programmable logical controller(PLC) is used to controll the processes. we are using FATEK FBS 40 MAR PLC. we are using 12 volt DC gear motor of 25 RPM for the conveyor belt. simple DC motor is used for the brushes. DC 12 volts blowers are used for drying the exterior of the car. 24 volt power supplly is also used. 5 volt and 12 volt supply is also used because the fans and IR sensors operating voltage is 12 volt and 5 volt.
