(a) Design of 200 Watts Wideband Amplifier.
(b) Prototype Development of Proposed Design.
(c) Key Performance Indicators Measurements of designed Prototype
A detailed study of wideband power amplifiers and their design will be
carried out. The basic amplifier’s design has been started. ADS 2019
will be used for the design. Following that, a prototype of the proposed
design will be created. Testing will be done to compare simulation results
to fabricated results. The designed prototype will be used to study and
measure the key performance metrics. The documentation of the entire
project will be completed at the end.
• The wideband power amplifiers provide consistent performance across
its operating frequency, minimizing the need for external equalizing
networks in wideband applications.
• Built-in protection against reverse bias and accidental open and short
loads provides added reliability.
• It has high fidelity because of the output being exact replica of an
input signal.
• It has improved high-frequency response because the active device
is ON full time, i.e. no time is required to turn on the device.
• Theatrical and concert sound reinforcement, as well as public address
systems
• Wideband power amplifiers can be used in circuits involving different
amplifier IC’s which can increase the gain and hence the power of
the amplified signal
The design specifications for the project are:
• Frequency Range: 1 GHz – 3.0 GHz
• Saturated Output Power: 200 Watts min @ single tone
• Max Input Power : 7 dBm
• Input and Output VSWR : less than (2.0 : 1)
• RF Input Signal Format: CW (Continuous Wave)
• Small signal Gain : 50 dB min
• Input Connectors : SMA Female
The Expected deliverables of the project are as follows
• Design of 200 Watts Wideband Power Amplifier.
• Prototype Development of Proposed Design.
• Key Performance Indicators Measurements of Designed Prototype.
