Design and Analysis of High Gain, High Isolation Dual Band MIMO Antenna for 5G Communication
Project Area of Specialization Electrical/Electronic EngineeringProject SummaryDual-band antennas have shown their better availability due to their extensive applications in the field of contemporary wireless communication. The dual-band design provides a wide range and combinations of frequency ratio, and these antenna designs have the flexibility to be tuned as per required application by simply changing the design parameters.
In some cases of antenna design, space management is very important in addition to cost cutting. Dual band antennas can be fabricated with much less footprint area compared to two different antennas at required frequencies if properly designed. In some cases, device might need to transmit/receive over any of two bands time to time but not simultaneously; then, a dual band antenna plays an important role.
Project Objectives- Design and analysis of dual band MIMO antenna system for 5G communication system
- Applying different miniaturization techniques
- Applying different decoupling techniques to enhance the performance of MIMO antenna and choosing the best technique.
- Fabrication and Testing and of proposed design.
For designing of antennas, CST Software will be used, the material required for designing antenna will be FR4(LOSSY). For decoupling of MIMO antennas different decoupling techniques will be used. For designing of MIMO 5G antenna different techniques will be used, designing and analysis of these techniques ,comparing each technique to the others. At the end of implementation of these techniques, the best and precise technique will be choose to the proposed design.
Benefits of the ProjectMultiple-input and multiple-output (MIMO) is a wireless technology that can provide significant performance improvement over the traditional single input and single-output system, has attracted growing interest since being introduced in the past two decades. It is a key technology that takes the advantage of multiple antennas at transmitter and/or receiver that can substantially improve the network throughput, capacity, and coverage without requiring additional bandwidth or transmit power level. Also it reduces the error rate and increases the wireless network reliability.
Technical Details of Final DeliverableThe proposed MIMO antenna system consists of the following features:
1. Dual band
2. High isolation
3. High gain
4. Large bandwidth
MIMO is generally used to improve wireless range, bandwidth, interference and coverage of the new generation wireless systems.
