The project is the design, analysis, and fabrication of an adsorption chiller that will utilize the waste heat from some industrial, commercial or domestic process for producing the chilling effect. The project involves the use of waste energy that would otherwise be disposed of without being to the maximum. The waste heat energy from the driving source will be used to achieve the compression process in a refrigeration cycle. In this way, the only electrically operated component of a refrigeration cycle is removed and the total operational cost of the chiller decreases multiple folds. Moreover, our project does not involve combustion or any other burning operation that is not environment friendly. We are manufacturing an eco-friendly adsorption chiller. Moreover, we shall numerically solve certain components of the system on ANSYS to better the performance of the chiller. Another major aim is to put forward a compact chiller that can be used for domestic or office use. 

Project Objectives

•Our objective is to utilize waste heat to achieve environment-friendly cooling with a lesser operating cost.

•Our aim would be to design a system that will operate at the minimum possible heat source temperature.

•The operating heat source temperature ranges from 60°C-95°C and the chilled water temperature ranges from 12°C-20°C.

We shall also design and analyze the certain component of the cycle using numerical simulations on ANSYS

Project Implementation Method

There are already many prototypes of this project that were developed but all of them have flaws and most of them had been developed for the industries and they are not cost-effective so our first market aim is to the unit which is cost-effective and has greater performance. Our second market aim is to make a compact design which should be environment friendly and could be easily used on a domestic scale like in offices and building for cooling purposes

Technical Details of Final Deliverable

important final deliverable that we are doing our best to achieve is performance, cost-effectiveness, and utilization of waste heat water which originated from several industries. we also kept in mind the environmental sustainability of our we will give more sustainable unit and most importantly we will make a compact design which is the most essential aspect of our project. we will create the unit in which temperature drop is between 15 to 20 degrees means if our source water is at 30 degrees then the minimum temperature will be 15 degrees means at evaporator out we would get water which at 15-degree temperature
