Deafie Helper would be a web based solution for american sign language translation which can be used anywhere for communication between non-signers and Deaf community. Deafie Helper is a vision based approach called as a Computer Vision system.

Project Objectives

• To encourage the deaf community to communicate easily and confidently with non-signers.
• To make Easy Access for Deaf Community in normal and social life.
• Deafie Helper is meant to be a Helper for non-signerers too so that they can understand the sign language easily.

Project Implementation Method

We'll take data as a dataset from kaggle which is consists of different gestutures and different latin characters. We'll then Preprocess the data including cropping the desired image and then will trainin it according to the CNN which is used for image classification and  recognition. We need orbbec which is used for live gestures and motion detection. and then final stage will be the user friendly web initererface.

Benefits of the Project

Deafie Helper can be installed at any booking counter where a deaf person can make an appointment or order and the receptionist can understand the sign lanuage easily by deafie helper. Deafie Helper can be expand as a Mobile application which would be portable

• We'll take Dataset from Kaggle.com
• We'll use Google CoLab GPU from training the huge dataset.
• We'll use CNN for image classification and recognition.
• We'll use OpenCV for image processing.
• Orbbec Persee for live motion detection
• We'll use Flask framework of python for Web interface
