This requires methodical and unprejudiced decision-making capabilities so as to guarantee the best employee-productivity. The main idea of this project is to help the administrative department of CIS Department NEDUET by developing a system that would analyze the employees' data and, by various machine learning techniques, detect diverse patterns in it.
In this project, the dashboards will be designed that will be accessed at the fingertips of every trusted member for better decision making and for the on-time availability of the information. These dashboards will be based on big data analytics and the outcome of these dashboards will create a truly data-driven enterprise. We are doing this project in collaboration with CIS Department NEDUET that has recently decided to digitalize its administrative activities. We are going to automate their following applications:
- Leave Management System.
- Overtime Management System.
- Attendance Management System.
What our department wants is to automate their day to day administrative activities so that it would be more convenient for the faculty of this department to take advantage of this project. After customization, our next step will be to perform analytics on the big data given by the department to analyze and find patterns and go towards prescriptive systems.
Currently, the data of the department is being managed manually, so our first step would be to automate and analyze the data by making a dashboard and then training the system and finding a pattern, and then ultimately prescribing the management on the basis of factor so that better decision making could be done.
With the increasing amount of data the task of managing it in an organization is becoming complicated day by day. 'hiring' and 'firing' of the organization's employees. It, instead, aids in the development of a company's business by paying special attention to the employees' performance and guaranteeing healthy employee relations.
For this purpose, the department keeps a record of all the employees including their working schedules/rosters, leaves (casual and/or annual), and their attendance on a daily basis. With the growing needs of the department, this data would, undoubtedly, increase. Consequently, more storage space would be required. Besides this, more efficient and unbiased decision-making skills would be required in order to ensure maximum employee performance.
This is where the concept of Machine Learning comes into the picture. By the usage of different Machine Learning Algorithms, the monotonous-yet-important administrative activities might be automated. These activities include the management of leaves, overtime, attendance, and rosters of the employees. The idea is to collect the employees' data, finding different patterns in it by means of various Machine Learning techniques, and developing a system that generates reports for the guidance of the administrator to make efficient and timely decisions so as to achieve maximum employee productivity.
Thus, more focus would be given to other strategic tasks and teacher/student interactions.
The fundamental objective of this project is to automate the tiresome administrative activities by;
- Using Machine Learning techniques to analyze the employees' data.
- Generating reports based on the patterns identified.
In order to complete our project, we have divided it into different stages.
- First of all, we would gather the data that is to be analyzed and separate the processed data from the unprocessed one.
- The next milestone is to develop the front-end (i.e. the dashboard with customized views for teachers, administrators, and other non-teaching employees).
- A database would be managed for the employees of the CIS department that would have their basic details.
- The management systems would be added in order to get information or store information.
- Then, different Machine Learning Algorithms would be applied to the data and required patterns would be found.
- Finally, we would deploy this software application in the CIS Department's office.
With the increasing demand for evidence-based management, the administrative departments have embraced the technology with a vision to provide more data-driven, reliable, and effective administrative services. Nowadays, admin is facing challenges in maintaining records of employee’s performance and accurately measuring our department’s workforce optimization. Hence, the sole purpose of the CIS OFFICE AUTOMATION is to ease the administrative burden of the department of CIS in NEDUET and to produce results that will solely be based on given data.
Without a proper administrative-activities automation system, organizations would lead to a low-clarity of their workforce and their productivity measurement. The CIS Office Automation software would lead to better work culture. It would also reduce the decision-making time for the CIS department. They would benefit from this software by analyzing factors such as employee performance and productivity for better planning of their decisions for the department’s success.
The development and completion of this project would not only help our CIS department but to all four of us to not only boost our technical knowledge but would also help us to critically analyze the scenarios, organization faces at the operational level.
