Child Nanny Monitoring System
Nowadays, with the majority of households having both parents working fulltime, people need to rely on nanny services to care for their children for the time they are at their work. But in recent years, many cases of child abuse and negligence have come to light where the nannies hired either ignored the child or outright abused and harmed them.
In order to put the parents’ minds at ease regarding the care of their precious offspring, we will design a system which will allow the parents to visually and aurally monitor their child’s wellbeing, as well as monitor the level of care the nanny provides.
Through the use of our system, the parents or guardians will be able to view the data sent from the sensor array fitted within the child’s room, which will include a moisture sensor within the bed, a camera for video surveillance, a cry detection circuit which will trigger an alert to check the video feed if the crying continues for more than 15 seconds, and lastly a motion detector aimed to check the child’s activity, that is if the child is awake or asleep.
The data from the sensors will be stored in a cloud platform like ThingSpeak, from where that data can be accessed by the parents or guardians using our android application.
Not only can the system be used to keep an eye on your child’s nanny, this system can also be useful as a child monitoring system, such as during the night, or when the parent is working around the house while the child sleeps during the day.
The goal of this project is basically as follow:
To achieve the first goal, we will provide an app interface that is easy to understand, even by novice users.
To achieve the second goal, we will provide seamless connectivity between our sensors app so that the parents can access the data from those sensors at will.
To achieve our third goal, we will test and make sure to include as many features as possible to ensure that the parent can properly monitor the wellbeing of their offspring.
The methodology that we used in our project is first we created our hardware in our hardware what we have done is completed our main task which is taking the sensor data and upload it on our cloud in which the sensor data is being updated real time and monitor properly which we have done successfully by using with the help of Python methods and functions and then later what we have to do is to send that sensor data that we have uploaded on the cloud to the mobile app which includes sensors data , livestreaming and many more so that the user can see the details of their regarding child and they can also monitor what is happening there with their child which can help their parents monitor on their child.
