Project Area of Specialization Artificial IntelligenceProject SummaryThis delivery system would be a system that would be implemented in NED University and facilitates not only students but also teachers and staff who could take advantage of this system. It includes food delivery to the students, teachers and staff from university canteens, delivery of printouts, and books from the library to the departments. The Project mainly comprises of a recommender system which will be implemented using machine learning. It has two interfaces; one for the user and the other for the vendor. When the user places an order, the vendor receives the user’s location and delivered the order to the specified checkpoints of the department when the order gets prepared. This project has its implementation within the university premises. This will also reduce the chances to get infected by COVID-19.
Project Objectives- To develop an application which will allow both students and teachers to order food, printouts, books etc. at the place of their choice within the campus premises.
- To implement a recommender system in the application which will help the customers to select from a lot of options.
- To actually deploy the application within the campus premises to help the university in implementing SOPs.
PROJECT IMPLEMENTATION/METHOD
- Node.js: Application back-end/server will be programmed using Node.js using Express.js framework.
- React Native: Application front-end/UI will be programmed using React Native framework.
- OCR: Optical Character Recognition module will be used to extract out credentials from student ID Card. It will help identify students and to impose app reliability.
- TensorFlow: TensorFlow will be used for machine learning, this library will be the backbone of our Recommender System (AI).
- VSCode: Code editor for Node.js and React Native.
- Anaconda: Code editor for TensorFlow (Python).
- Firebase: Firestore and Firebase Authentication will be used for storing data e.g. messages, order placed, user credentials etc. and user authentication and authorization respectively.
- AWS: Amazon Web Services preferably will be used for the deployment of server otherwise a local server will be implemented
- Carrier: A delivery guy (carrier) will be used to deliver items to the customer
This project will be beneficial for the university because it will help individuals in following SOPs. This project will also help students, teachers and visitors in order to save their time and get their products delivered at their desired locations.
Technical Details of Final DeliverableThe final product would be an application which will be made available to all the students and teachers to download. We will hire carriers, they will deliver items to the customers. Students and teachers will place order, and by using their order information the recommendation system algorithm will be trained. It will help a lot in social distancing and ultimately will help university to fight against covid19 spread.
