Project Summary

Passing out of school and college is a big time for most students because

for most it is the first time, they will have to make a life-changing choice,

for their undergraduate degree. This Online Career Guidance System aims

to be a helpful and useful starting point for this confusing phase. This

application will save time of students.

The main objective of our project is to guide the students for choosing the

university. The proposed Online Career Guidance System will make it

easy for students to access the information they need. It will guide

students through this process and provide access to Counsellors that can

help them. Students can Chat with Counsellors in case of any confusion

and can get help from Counsellors for choosing right track in this

important phase of their life.

As students browse through different university, they can easily get an

information about admission dates and entry tests. The system will also

allow students to collect all the information through interface and

Counsellors They can view top 10 universities of Pakistan ranked by

Higher Education Commission (HEC). They can perform Practice NTS

Based Test and see their obtained marks. Moreover, the aptitude test will

help the students to prepare for the exam.

Project Objectives

1) The objective of our project is to guide the students for choosing

university.

2) The proposed Online Career Guidance System will make it easy

for students to access the information they need. As students

browse through different university, they can easily get an

information about admission last dates and entry tests.

3) Counsellors will guide students through this process and provide

access to Counsellors that can help them. Students can Chat (Real

time chat) with Counsellors in case of any confusion and can get

help from Counsellors for choosing right track in this important

phase of their life.

4) They can perform Practice NTS Based Test and see their obtained

marks. Moreover, the aptitude test will help the students to prepare

Users and Characteristics

Every user having experience of using smartphone can use the app. No

technical expertise required to use this app. As the purpose to build this

app is to help people to see information about all universities at one

place. As all the users registering this app are equally important for the

app as they are interconnected with each other to run the service.

Student:

Student can view details of all universities of Pakistan. They can search

universities province wise. They can search university by name and view

all information about that universities. They can view top 10 universities

of Pakistan ranked by Higher Education Commission (HEC). They can

perform practice NTS quiz and see their obtained marks. If they are

confused in choosing field they can chat with Counsellors at any time.

Project Implementation Method

? Using technology, we are making This app (system) will help the

student being a sort of assistant to keep them notified about the

admission dates of universities.

This App will include information like

• University Detail all over the Pakistan

• Counsellors guide students in choosing their fields.

• Practice NTS Based Test

? Students face same problem of choosing university as we were

never aware of every university requirement This application will

provide them a platform where they can post and demand food.

? Whole the network will be connected through the firebase real-

time database. There would be two types of accounts.

• User Account

• Admin Account

• Counsellors Account

? Firebase will provide services as a server through which

interconnected networks will be held. All University real-time

database a status could be update change or delete.

• They can use this application while taking admission in university.

• They can see last date to apply in each university and can see the top

10 universities of Pakistan.

• They can practice for NTS Test and get result of practice NTS Test.

• The system should be very easy to use for people even with low or

no previous experience with the application use.

• The system user should find themselves comfortable using App.

Technical Details of Final Deliverable

Flutter is a hybrid framework based on dart language.

Flutter is used to build beautiful natively compiled apps for iOS and

Android.

The Mobile application Career Guide acts as a helping guide with

advance tools whereas the database containing information of all college

and university details is maintained by a live server Firebase.

Students and Counsellors Chat (Real time chat) is also maintained by a

live server Firebase.

• Provides option to Login for each user

• User can Login as a Students or a Counsellors

• NTS test practice

• Generate NTS test report

• Students can chat with Counsellors

• Show Top 10 universities of Pakistan ranked by Higher Education

Commission (HEC).

Non-Functional Requirements

Performance Requirements

As we are going to use the flutter framework for the hybrid application

development which is backed google so it makes much convenience and

improves performance for the application developed by flutter. Problems

in user performance makes them irritate so we use Firebase database with

our application which is fast and will not take much time to load the queries.

It is necessary to review at the requirements that might be involved in our

system. These requirements must be documented before the coding for theproject is started.

? The product shall be android, and iOS based and must be run from 

the device connected with an online database. 

? The product shall take initial load time depending on internet 

connection strength which also depends on the media from which 

the product runs.

? The performance shall depend upon hardware components of the 

client/customer. 

? A good hard disk is essential for a system. 

? The system must be connected to fast internet so that large number 

of users can use system together.

? The maximum page load time will not be more than 2-3 seconds

Reusability

As there is always room of improvement, the subjected project will be of 

great help to bring further versions in the same environment.

Reliability

The system should be developed in such a manner that the bugs can be 

fixed. The system should be reliable enough to tackle and adapt to any changes.
