Project Area of Specialization Electrical/Electronic EngineeringProject SummaryIn the short distance areas like universities campus etc. people don’t have the convenience to travel through the vehicle. So they have to cover these distances by walking. Furthermore some people have health issues so they cannot walk for these distances especially in summer. So we are designing an e-bike rental system. In this system, we are designing an app. This app can read the bar-code of cycle to unlock the cycle. This app can also have the accessed to mobile bank like jazzcash, easypaisa etc. where he can transfer the money of rent. We are also designing a database using SQLite. Database will save the records of the system and customers. We are also modifying our bicycle by using some electronics module. We are using GPS module to track bicycle and measure the distance travel by bicycle. We are also using GSM module which we will communicate with database of our system. We are using a LED with buzzer to alarm the customer. The system we are designing will put a huge positive impact on commercial potential as well as national development.
Project ObjectivesOur objectives in this project are:
- Development of an App.
- Development of Database.
- Tracking the location of bicycle.
- Connection between bicycle and database/admin.
Firstly, we will develop an app using Android Studio software. In this app we will design a bar code reader which will read the bar-code tag placed on cycle. Then after reading the bar-code the app then ask the time of hiring the cycle. After selecting the time, the app then ask the mobile bank where he/she wants to send the money. After selecting all of above the bicycle will unlock.
we will create a database system. The data of customers who are taking our bicycle on rent. This data consists of :
1.The name of customer(name mentioned in their mobile bank).
2.The amount of money.
3.The location from where he/she hired the bicycle and his/her destination.
4.The name of mobile bank he/she used.
This data will store in computers. We will use new datasheet everyday. The previous data sheet will be saved.
The electronics devices we will use in our project will be:
¡Tracker for GPS:
GPS module will be used in our project which will give us the location of our bicycles.
¡Microcontroller(Arduino):
We will use an arduino which will control and process all the data coming from different electronics devices which are working by programming on Arduino software.
¡GSM module:
This module will send the data of GPS to computer database to get the location of bicycle.
Battery:
We will use a powerbank as a battery to power the arduino and modules we are using in our cycle.
¡Alarm buzzer and LED:
We will use a buzzer which will start buzzing when your given distance is about to covered. It will also start buzzing when someone violate anything in bicycle like try to break the lock. An led is also attached with buzzer when will blink when buzzer is on.
¡Electronic Lock:
An electronic lock will be used in the bicycle which will work according to the information receiving from microcontroller.
Benefits of the Project- Our renting system is fully automatic and operated by an App
- The bicycle is electronically modified like it has some modules whichis for tracking the bicycle and for communicating the bicycle with admin.

If we see the impact of our idea/project for national development. It can be very helpful. If we plant our project in housing societies where people live and the vehicle are not allowed in the society and will be park outside of society. Then we will see improvement on environment. There will be less pollution in the environment.

This project can be launched in different universities, airports, factories and similar places where people have to walk to cover far distances.
The technical details of our FYP are:
- We are using GPS NEO-6MV2 which is operated in 43mA and 2.7V ~3.6V which is easily operated by Arduino UNO.
- We are using GSM-SIM800 which also has easily workable by Arduino
- We are programming to develop an APP we has following features:
- read bar code.
- login and register an account option
- billing option
