Building Management System For Heating Using Variable Frequency Drive(VFD).
Project Area of Specialization Electrical/Electronic EngineeringProject SummaryThis project presents the plan and procedure Building Management System for Heating. The main aim of the project is the working of induction motor (as we used induction pump) according to load automatically, with the help of PLC and VFD.The aim of any industry is energy conservation and to save or reduce the cost of fuel
or energy. Normally most of the industries are using induction motors for different purpose. As we have seen, induction motors are previously controlled manually most
of the time, where the electric motors use two-third of all power in industry, so efficiency and energy saving by a single figure is highly significant. in the pumps the changing rotation speed according to load is the most effective and economical way of improving efficiency. Using VFD, feedback path and automation in the speed control of motors will detonate the industrial world in term of losses. The sensors measure
the room temperature, and controller (PLC) generate the output for VFD,and then frequency from VFD to the induction motor is controlled by means of water flow from
the boiler to the thermostatic valve. The thermostatic radiator valve is turned off, in case of the temperature reaching a higher point than the previously set temperature,
and vice versa.
The objectives of the projects are:
- Speed regulation of induction motor according to temperature requirements.
- Controlling flow of water according to temperature.
- Controlling the thermostatic radiator valve according to room temperature.
- Energy efficiency using variable frequency drive
This paper presents an automatic room temperature control system. This is a heating system which screens the room temperature and controls the dissemination of
heated water from kettle to the FCU put in the room without human intercession. This plan utilizes a controller (PLC) and a temperature sensor to screen and control the temperature of a room. From the start, the client should set the framework
temperature to a reference esteem that the person needs to keep up in that room. The temperature sensor will at that point sense the encompassing temperature and
speaks with the controller (PLC). The controller peruses the temperature each 10to 15 seconds and contrasts it and the ideal worth. On the off chance that the deliberate
worth is not exactly the ideal worth, at that point the induction motor as per load through PLC and VFD will be consequently set off ON to heat up the temperature of the room until it returns back to the ideal worth and turns OFF. This work will in general plan a basic however productive framework to tackle a perplexing framework. The requirement for straightforward and financially savvy framework tends towards the part of designing plan that investigates basic arrangements that address complex frameworks and furthermore limiting expense of planning a framework by limiting gear and segments in plan.
We have utilized a temperature sensor to detect the temperature of the space to be warmed. The temperature sensor is then associated with our PLC. A VFD is likewise associated with the PLC. PLC impels the VFD as indicated by the deliberate temperature to control the speed of the induction motor. The induction motor at that point siphons the heated water to keep up the steady room temperature

- An automation system is developed for industry process control.
- Automated system to reduce human efforts, wages of labour and increase in production rate.
- The system becomes user-friendly with the Human Machine Interface (HMI) design
- foundation, advance comprehensive and supportable industrialization
- plc:fatek type plc is used for interfacing the vfd with motor and work on the input from the temperature sensor .it is used for the control of induction motor because many industries work on the plc
- vfd: it is a vsi type: vfd from which it controlled the induction motor speed automatically on the logic from PLC
- thermoststic radiator valve: this valve itself has a temperature sensor wich initially controlled the by user to set it reference point, rest it adjust itself automatically (its angle of closing and opening)
- induction motor pump: as the motor is used 0.5 hp for the head of 5m it gives 9lpm for the flow of water in the rooms.
- wooden structure of the room: it is the prototype of the rooms on which the temperature is being controlled in the real time.
- temperature sensor: DGT22 or thermocouple is used for the sensig the temperature in the room and from this its creatthe difference b/w user input and sensing temp in the room.
- piping: from the piping the flow of water is being delivered to the room it will be pvc pipes outside the rooms for temperature efficiency, while inside the room in front of DC fan it will be a coil of metal.
- fan coil units structure: for its structure dc fan is used for extraction of heat from the pipe ,this concept refers to the automobile radiator system.
- autocad: for the basic structure of the project
- win pro ladder:for the plc simulation
