Narmal cells grow in a controlled manner as new cells replace old or damaged ones. for reason not fully understood,tumor cells reproducede irrespressiby. A primry brain is an abnormal growth that starts in the brain and usualy does not spread to other parts of the body . primary brain tumors may be begin or malignant . A begning grows slowly , has distinct boundries, and rarely spreads.

we propose an efficiant brain tumor detection method, witch can detect tumor and locate it in the brain MRI images . This method extracts the tumor by using K-means algorithom followed by objective labeling algorithum. Also some preprocessing stepsare used for tumor detection purpose. It is observed that the experimental results of the proposed method give batter results in comparison to other techniques.
In general, diagnosing a brain tumor usually begins with magnetic resonance imaging (MRI). Once MRI shows that there is a tumor in the brain, the most common way to determine the type of brain tumor is to look at the results from a sample of tissue after a biopsy or surgery.

The methology consists of the following steps:preprossing by using sharpening and nedian filters,enhancement of images is performed by histogram equalization , segmentation of the image is performed by thresholding .This approach is then followd by the further application of morphological operation. finally the tumor region can be using the technique of image subtraction
