Project Summary

Brain Tumor Detection and E-Portal provides patients and clinical staff an easy access to Brain Tumor Detection through a user friendly portal. It also provides full access to back-end for admin panel using e-portal. Admin can easily access user reports, back-end database, staff and user accounts, patient and staff track records and several other similar features. Patient can upload their ‘MRI Scans’ to check if they have brain tumor but before results are released to the patient, clinical staff can check and make sure that patient is receiving correct results or not. Patients can upload their other related report so staff can review their past history. Staff keeps can keep check on patient’s old and new reports related to tumor and save a lot of time and effort using portal as well as online tumor detection. Project Objectives

The main objective of this project is to provide a better solution to our problem. It will reduce the human error, provide a user-interface to patient, clinical staff and admin. It will also give full access control to admin through web application and provide upgraded systems as compare to current provided systems.

Project Implementation Method

This system provides the same enclosed and isolated space that will be automatically supervised by the features provided by the system.

Patient will sign up and login. Upload any previous tumor related reports if needed else upload MRI Scan images and send it for tumor detection. Tumor Detection request will be forwarded to the staff, once staff approve the request, it will send MRI scans to the model using the API.

Once, model returns the tumor detection results. It will send results back to the staff, staff will check and examine to avoid any error. After staff’s satisfaction, results will be released to the Patient.

Staff will sign up for new account, if it’s legit staff member. Admin will approve the account from its dashboard after conformation. Once staff account is approved, staff can login and perform its operations accordingly.

There will be a super admin account, which can create admin/staff/patient account manually from the admin dashboard. It will have full access to patient, staff and admin dashboard as well as to the back-end (Model and Database).

  • Staff will save a lot of time and effort.
  • It will reduce the unnecessary interaction between staff and users.
  • Data-set for tumor detection can be updated using admin panel.
  • Reducing the chances of human error.
  • Saving time on data processing.

Technical Details of Final Deliverable

The end product of "Brain Tumor Detection and E-Portal" will be a web-based application as well as a documentation manual containing all of the application's technical specifics. It will be built using React Js, Python, and the Firebase database. Rest API will be used to transfer MRI Scans from interface to algorithm/model for Brain Tumor Detection and sending back the output.
