Project Title

Brain Interpreter

Project Area of Specialization NeuroTechProject Summary

More than 2 billion people in the world faces disability or chronic disease. Pakistan is no exception to this, where 1 million people are disable and 2.5 million people are epileptic patients. Brain controlled robots and prosthetics can be of great help to these people. Hence aim of the project is to develop a cheap, efficient and non-invasive Brain Interpreter for its diversifying applications specially to help people with disability, neuromuscular disorder or chronic diseases. It will aid the development of mental assisted devices to remove physical input dependency of machines and will  promote brain controlled devices and prosthetics.

Project Objectives

Development of an algorithm to interpret brain activity. In order to aid development of brain-controlled devices and prosthetics to help disable people. Further to allow health monitoring of people using their brain signals.

Project Implementation Method

Different human actions and health states correspond to different patterns of Electroencephalogram (EEG) signals brain signals. Hence EEG signals of different human beings of all age group and class will be acquired and studied for patterns. Then with the help of supervised learning a model will be trained to comprehend these patterns and predict their resembling actions and health states. This classified brain activity will be used to control any machine or determine state of health.

Benefits of the Project

Brain Interpreter can be used to develop brain-controlled devices. Further it could also be used to develop brain-controlled prosthetics for more than 2 billion people with disability worldwide. Last it could be used to monitor health of more then 1 billion chronic patients.

Technical Details of Final Deliverable

A software, based on machine learning techniques that can classify EEG signals and determine their resembling actions.
