Project Area of Specialization RoboticsProject SummaryWith the development in the area of artificial intelligence, the application of new algorithms to the area of robotics has gained significant importance. In this project, we develop a framework to implement the techniques used in robotics. While the application of robotics pertains to many areas of commercial and industrial applications, we study the use of these machines for the people and society of Pakistan. We identify the areas where the robotics can be applied to cater the needs of the local market. We also develop robots for the identified applications.
Project ObjectivesThe primary objective of this project is to develop applications in robotics that can be applied to individuals as well as industries in Pakistan. With the development of a platform that integrates robotics hardware and intelligent software, an effort is made to move towards self-reliance in the area of robotics. The software of a robot plays a pivotal role in its efficiency and application, therefore, we explore the possibility of designing and integrating software to be used according the needs of the users. We then identify the area of applications where the robotics application can be useful.
Project Implementation MethodThe project builds up starting with the fundamental building blocks of the robotics with the basic version of the software. In the initial phase, we study the requirements pertaining to the applications of robotics to the mainstream issues in society. The design of the robotics system is finalized and the process of hardware design and construction is carried out while at the same time software development requirements are evolved. The software relies on the data from various sensors installed in the robots to make intelligent decisions that are required to accomplish the objectives. The concepts from control theory are implemented to make the final product more robust and stable.
Benefits of the ProjectThe project focus on benefiting the society from the technology of robotics and the intelligent software systems that governs it. The objective is to introduce the techniques and application of robotics to combat issues that are beneficial for common people and society as a whole. In addition, the designs can be adapted for industrial challenges in order to reduce process and production costs while maintaining high quality standards. The specialized design robots assists in reducing the costs and increase productivity in almost all areas of life.
Technical Details of Final DeliverableThe final deliverables shall consists of a hardware part, that is, a robot, and specially designed software to operate efficiently the associated components. The interface to the software will be adapted with the existing communications technologies used by consumers and industrial units.
