Blood Donation is a social work that not only helps to save someone’s life but also cleans the donor’s blood as the old blood gets out of the body and new blood is generated. Before donating blood, blood test is taken, if the donor is healthy, he/she will be allowed to donate blood. The primary responsibility of a blood transfusion service is to provide a safe, sufficient and timely supply of blood and blood products. In fulfilling this responsibility, the BTS should ensure that the act of blood donation is safe and causes no harm to the donor.

These days when someone needs blood, they send text messages to their friends and family. And if the blood is not found, they forward that message to different WhatsApp and Facebook groups. So, it gets difficult to get blood that way. That message is not taken seriously and sometimes when someone agrees to donate blood, and both of them are in different cities, it gets difficult to donate blood.

The main idea is to create an android application and web application which will manage blood donation. As we get many messages from different groups for blood donation so we will make an application that gathers the blood donors and blood seekers to one platform. It is going to be a location-based application which helps the blood seeker find the nearest blood donor and blood bank. It will also update the donor’s medical report to the donor’s account. Another feature in our system is, if a donor donates their blood, their status will go to inactive state for 57 days. And they will get a push notification once those days end.

In addition, all the blood banks and hospitals will be able to register to our website and will be able to monitor their stocks. Contact other blood banks and hospitals and also view the donors nearby. It will also allow them to send notifications to the donors for donations

Project Objectives

• This Application is to make a quick response for blood donation.
• This application is location based application which gives the exact address of the donor.
• The application will be easily accessible for the seekers who are looking for blood donation without wasting time.
• Blood donors will also be able to get notifications for donation from blood banks and seekers as well.
• Offline Status will be shown if the donor has donated blood recently
• Push notification will be sent to the donor after 57 days of donating blood.

Project Implementation Method

This project will have two applications versions one for Donor/Seeker and one for Blood banks/Hospitals.The project will be divided into different phases.

Design Model:

The phase of IMPLEMENTATION is stated as follows:

• Implementation of Login for Donor/Seeker and Blood banks/ Hospitals.
• Implementation of the Donation availability module.
• Applying the location tracking system.
• Offline status implementation in which after donation the availability status of the donor will go offline for 57 days.
• Implementation of Specific blood request which means that seeker can raise request for specific blood group and will only see the recommended blood donors and blood banks.
• Blood banks will be able to connect to each other. Raise request for donation and also respond to the requests raised by the seekers.

Development Tool:

Android studio, VS Code Programming Language.

Software Development Model:

Agile Model.

Benefits of the Project

This project will be very beneficial in saving life’s as it will allow the donors and seekers to simply login to the android app and search for nearby blood donors and blood banks and also allow them to raise the requests any time and these requests will send the notifications to the donors of that specific blood group and also to the nearby blood banks. In this way it will help them to find the nearest blood donation spot without wasting any time. Similarly, all the blood banks and hospitals will be able to find the blood donors, get notified by the requests raised for donations, send notification for donations and also monitor their stocks this will help them in organizing their system and provide more effective service. The blood banks will also be able to contact each other though this website. In this way it will help the hospitals and blood banks to provide better and fast service without any loss of precious life.

• This application will help the seeker to find the required blood group in nearest area on just few clicks.
• The application will enhance the donation process through instant search.
• Seekers will be able to see donor’s profile and contact them directly.

Technical Details of Final Deliverable

The final deliverable of “Blood On Click” will be an android application and web application along with documentation manual having all the technical details of application. It will be developed in Android Studio and Visual Code. The android application will be compatible with all the versions of Android OS following Android Jelly Beans (4.0.2).
