Project Area of Specialization BlockchainProject SummaryThis is a digital platform that gives you an option for effectively handling recyclable waste. It is a blockchain-based system that will be developed as a Progressive Web Application (PWA). Connecting waste producers and waste collectors as well as waste entrepreneurs provides a transition to a circular economy and promotes the segregation of waste by providing financial incentives for individual users. The platform aims to streamline the waste flow process by ensuring stable income for waste collectors, higher profits, ease of access for corporations wishing to recycle waste, and a potentially more efficient waste collection system for the government.
Based on our research and identifying the issues in the supply chain of waste, our solution is to provide one platform to carry out an automated process where the waste collection will be improved with optimized routes, GPS tracked vehicles, collection methods in line with segregated waste collection and tracking mechanisms for a more effective process. It connects the different actors in the waste ecosystem such as Kabariwala’s or waste businessmen (B2C), People who collect waste from households (waste collectors) (B2C), Households or individuals who need to dispose of their waste, Big companies or recycling companies who buy waste (metals, paper, plastic, in lot), Start-ups and NGOs that are working on waste management issues.

1. Incentivization for a sustainable way of life
The condition for using the service is the segregation of waste. The financial incentives will be an encouragement for citizens to start sorting their own waste – the problem of non-segregation will be progressively solved. Gradually, there will be the spread in the sustainable practices and the rise in environmental consciousness, people will be more willing to minimize their ecological footprint in a bid to be more eco-friendly.
2. Connecting Innovative Actors in the Waste Ecosystem
The platform aims at connecting and empowering already existing actors within the waste collection ecosystem and lay the foundation for the future for greater involvement in the waste management system, both of individual households and companies.
3. Use Hyperledger Fabric Blockchain
Develop a digital platform to manage the waste on blockchain. To securely store data of users and complete details of transactions within the network. Hyperledger gives the ability to create a private network.
