Project Summary

Sweeping of roads is a major problem in every country. A large number of labours is used to do this difficult task. The efficiency of men power is very low as compared to Machinery. Many technologies have had been developed through years for the collection and disposal of the debris from roads, parks and streets, but they are proving to be more and more expensive and polluting with increasing fuel costs and increasing global warming. Therefore, an electric road sweeper has been designed and implemented.

Mechanical sweepers are bulky, sluggish and consume a lot of power, so since the dawn of 21st-century electric road sweepers are being developed. These are small, eco-friendly, save power and money and their operation is noise-free. All these qualities make them perfect for places like educational institutes hospitals and government office premises.

 Dirty surroundings always impose a bad impression of any society. Debris and Leaves scattered on roads and other places affect the environment badly. Collecting them could be time-consuming and difficult depending on weather conditions and wetness. A large number of labours is used to do this difficult task. The efficiency of men power is very low as compared to Machinery. Many technologies have had been developed through years for the collection and disposal of the debris from roads, parks and streets, but they are proving to be more and more expensive and polluting with increasing fuel costs and increasing global warming. Focusing on the above-mentioned issues many technologies have had been developed through years for the collection and disposal of the debris from roads, parks and streets. Although conventional sweeping vehicles already exist, they are designed to operate on Internal Combustion (IC) engines which are proving to be more and more expensive and polluting with increasing fuel costs and increasing global warming. It's important to realize that there are different technologies behind every sweeper for different industries and the purpose of street sweeping.

Project Objectives

  1. To make the operational cost low
  2. To make pollution-free cleaning machine
  3. To operate it as self-driving (autonomous) robot
  4. To achieve satisfactory cleaning in less time

Project Implementation Method

The machine will follow a given line. With the help of ultrasonic sensors, it will avoid collision. GPS is added to see the coordinates of the robot and also date&time.
