Controlling vehicle speed has been a crucial issue to be considered. This paper aims to give a practical, compact and simple design to develop an automatic vehicle speed control system, which has to be quickly get implemented in school, college, hospital, sharp turning zones to reduce the number of accidents. This automated speed controlling system is built using the microcontroller-based platform of the Arduino Uno board. Here the Arduino is programmed in such a way that, the prescribed speed limit was incorporated in the transmitter unit which transmits the signals, and it was received by the receiver in the vehicle using Zigbee wireless communication technology and the speed of the vehicle was automatically controlled by the input signals by the receiver, with the help of speed encoder sensor. Once this technique will implement the accidents will be reduced on a larger rate, and also reduce the nuisance by some drivers.

Project Objectives

The aim and objective of this project is to design a device which can control speed of a vehicle automatically of automatic cars and it will alert the driver of a manual car at restricted areas where speed limit defines. It will very beneficial against accidents. Moreover, our target I to implement on a larger scale having known that technology is advancing at a faster rate and we need to cope-up with that as soon as possible.There are many issues from each country is facing. But one of the major issue is accidents, which causes dozens of lives almost every week.  We are trying to give our efforts to reduce the accidents. And we hope that it will be implemented on a larger scale so this issue could be resolve on larger scale. That’s why we are designing a device called “Automotive speed control system” which will automatically reduce the speed of a car in a restricted area and it also have a manual button which will give alert to the driver that this is a restricted then driver will reduce the speed. So hopefully this will help in reducing accidents.

Project Implementation Method Methodology  

Phase-1

During this phase, we doing requirement gathering, research about project and write documents for understanding the flow of project also how to implement it and to examine the system's structure.

Phase-II

During this phase, we will develop and design, by develop software and hardware integration as well using different technique and working according to the software requirements.

Phase-III

In this phase, we will program sensors, connect them to other hardware, adding different features and set up the system to work. In this step, we'll put the system through its paces in a real-world setting.

Phase-1V

On this phase we build dc motor connected with senser, adding different features and check whether system can work appropriately. We will verify whether or not all of the features are operational

Phase-V

During the last stage, we will test overall system dc motor and senser integration, test each feature and confirm that our system builds upon proposed work as we consider.

Benefits of the Project

As far as automobiles are concerned, safety is very important to reduce the occurrence of accidents in speed restricted zones. It minimizes the loss of property and life. According to the recent surveys, in the past few years, an accident near the school zones, hospital zones and sharp turnings have increased tremendously, because of their hurry to get the targeted place soon. Technical Details of Final Deliverable

The Final delivery of our project is.

  1. Iniatially Input some rules according to different scenarios.
  2. User can Select Auto/ Manual mode
  3. If User can select Auto Then perform according to Auto
  4. If User can select Manual Then perform According to manual
  5. Display Message on screen.
