There are three stages of our FYP.The first stage is related to cleaning of Bus tyres and lower body, Second stage is related to the washing of Bus body while the third stage is related to dryness of Bus.

Stage # 01 _  Bus tyres and lower  body washing  process

When Bus will arrive to the Automatic Washing station then conveyor will start. When Sensor 01 detect the Bus on stage 01.after this water spray will start on the lower body of bus and tyre by opening the corresponding valve connected with water tank.  The conveyor will carry the suit bus to the next stage 02 after compleating the process in stage 01.

     Stage # 02_ SUIT Bus Top and Side Surfaces Washing and Cleaning Process

After completing the stage 01, the bus will transfer to stage 02 the conveyer will stop when suit bus reached to stage 02 by activating sensor 02. Arduino will open the corresponding valve  of the water tank and valve of cleaning agent tank for purpose of washing through water and cleaning agent sequentially. 

There is dual side brush-rollers mounted on the rails on the top and the bus is parked in between the rollers during the washing procedure. The bus remains static during the washing process while the brush-rollers move about on the rail gliding around the bus to perform the process of  washing.

    Stage # 03_ Dry Process for Bus

     After completing the washing and cleaning process at stage 02 the bus will transfer to stage 03 to dry bus using the fan controlled by  Arduino.When all the stages of bus washing is complete the buzzer and light will turn on to show the ending of all processes.

The project objectives are:

1. design of transport system for Bus

2. application of motor in transport system

3. programming of digital controller

4. design of multi input and multi output system

5. application of sensor technology in transport system

6. design of real time control system

7. design and development of automated washing station 

Project Implementation Method

The proposed final year project will be implemented in maximum of ten month.Project implementation method is divided into basics of three main stages which are described in project summary.

Benefits of the Project

1. Environmental Friendly: Automatic Bus washing is considered to be environmental friendly. If you try to wash your bus manually, it will take around 600 gallons of water to wash your bus. Not only that, the dirt and soap can pollute the environment where you live. When you opt for automatic bus washing, you can save the consumption of water. Automatic bus wash uses only 100 gallons of water approximately and it won’t pollute the environment you are living in.

2. Zero Scratches: When you wash your bus manually, you normally use sponges and bus washing brushes. This can create small scratches on the vehicle, if not used properly. But, when you go for an automatic car washing option, there are zero chances of any scratches.

3. Increases the value of your vehicle: If you use automatic bus washing regularly instead of manual bus wash, it can easily increase the market value of your bus as your bus will be looking new and is free from scratches and marks. Automatic bus washing helps to preserve the paint and keeps your vehicle shinning all the time. There are a few automatic bus wash equipments that do polishing when performing bus wash. This will help your car remain new and free from tiny scratches.

4. Less Wastage of Water: As you will be using a lot of water when washing your bus manually, there will be huge amounts of waste water. If waste waters are not transported correctly, it can cause serious health issues and can pollute your underground water supply. An automatic bus washing system uses minimum resources and keeps the environment neat and clean.

5. Affordable: Till a few years back, many people believed that automatic bus washing was a costly affair. But, in reality, automatic bus washing is a more economical option compared to manual bus washing. What’s more, automatic bus washing helps to save your time. It will require hours of effort if you are going for manual bus wash. But, automatic bus washing can be completed within few minutes.

Technical Details of Final Deliverable

Technical details of final deliverable depends on the availability of hardware such as digital controllers (PLC or Arduino Mega), sensors (contact less), motors (DC geared motors), mechanical soleniod valves (220 V) interfaced with relay, transport system made of aluminum made material, water tanks of aluminum made material, hoses for water and soapy water flow.
