So here we are offering our best, an automatic controlling and monitoring water irrigation system based on GSM module. Crops will definitely yield much better when used this system. Which can detect moisture value of soil, temperature value of environment, can generate notification via SMS in time both in case deficiency and excess i.e. water. Machinery i.e. water pump ON/OFF state can be controlled by SMS. Water shortage problem can surely be solved by this system.
Project Objectives- to monitor and control the irrigation system by using GSM module that can detect soil moisture and temperature
- to use sensor-readings of these parameters and automate relevant parameters for agriculture, including automatic water supply , automatic moisturizing detection ,switching pump on off and others.
GSM Module :
GSM/GPRS shield is a GSM modem, which is used to accomplish almost anything a normal cell phone can; SMS text messages, Make or receive phone calls, connecting to internet through GPRS, TCP/IP, and more! To top it off, the shield supports quad-band GSM/GPRS network, meaning it works pretty much anywhere in the world.
The GSM module is used for controlling and monitoring the pump and sensor. The GSM module connect with main baord and all sesonrs connected with it. All sensors send the notification to the GSM module and then it can generate msg to the owner what it happened right now. Motor can be ON/OFF by sms. The owner text to GSM module ON then the motor became ON. LDR senor tells about the wavelenght of light. Alert msg also generate if the water overflow or a feild is dry. The owner operate all the thing by sending sms to the GSM module which is connected to the main board.

A photoresistor (or light-dependent resistor, LDR, or photo-conductive cell) is a light-controlled variable resistor. The resistance of a photoresistor decreases with increasing incident light intensity; in other words, it exhibits photoconductivity.
