Automated Irrigation System Using PLC
Project Area of Specialization Internet of ThingsProject SummaryThe project Automated irrigation system implies that automatic watering system to the fields which require water. As we know that even in this vast era of technology farmers still needs to water the field manually. This automatic irrigation system will make sure to supply the water when the field need to be watered. The moisture shall be sensed through the moisture sensor which signals the PLC to open the valve for the fields.
The output of the sensors and the flow of water can be seen on HMI and smartphone by using CMT.
Project ObjectivesThe objectives of this project are listed below
1 : To detect the moisture of the field.
2 : To operate the valve for the field
3 : Designing the three modes of operation that are sensor mode, timer mode and the combination of sensor and timer mode.
4 : To display the results of the project on HMI and smartphone by using CMT.
5 : PLC based control system which implies automatic watering.
Project Implementation Method1) Develop a ladder logic according to the requirement of the mode
2) Develop a HMI to show the result and make changes if required.
3) Develop a hardware to implement the logic and note the results.
Benefits of the ProjectIt will reduce the manpower that is required for irrigating the field.
It will increase the efficiency of the agriculture industry.
The most important advantage of the project is to save the wastage water
Technical Details of Final Deliverable1) Representating the whole process on HMI and CMT.
2) Solenoid valve operation in three modes that is,
a) timer mode
b) sensor mode
c) mixture mode (timer and sensor combine).
3) Saving data which will tell when the valve were operated.
4) Designing the in such a way that same activity can be performed from the PLC and also from HMI.
5) Representing moisture sensors data on HMI and operating valve according to the data taken from moisture sensor.
