Visual tracking is a very important field in computer vision as it has several vital applications such as video surveillance, human-computer interaction, human and object tracking and identification, intelligent transportation, robotics, video games, traffic flow measurement, vehicle navigation, biometric, industrial automation, security applications and object tracking in smart rooms. Visual tracking can be considered an alternative method for conventional detection, identification and tracking methods such as radars.
Object tracking is the process in which the video is analyzed in three stage, the first stage concerned with moving object detection, the second stage concerned with object classification and the last stage concerned with object tracking in the nth frame. Object classification is the process of determining the nature and properties of the object. Then object tracking process tracks the selected object motion parameter such as position, velocity and acceleration. Good tracking can be achieved by continuously updating the detection stage and object parameter. Object detection and tracking is one of the critical areas of research due to routine change in motion of object and variation in scene size, occlusions, appearance variations, and ego-motion and illumination changes. Specifically, feature selection is the vital role in object tracking. It is related to many real time applications like vehicle perception, video surveillance and so on. In order to overcome the issue of detection, tracking related to object movement and appearance. Most of the algorithm focuses on the tracking algorithm to smoothen the video sequence.
Recently, there is an advance of miniaturization and lower the cost of cameras have preferred the implementation of large-scale networks of the camera. This increasing number of cameras could permit novel signal processing applications which employ multiple sensors in extensive areas. Object tracking is the novel procedure for discovering moving objects beyond time by utilizing the camera in video sequences

We have identified and discussed the limitation/future scope of various methods. Also, we have noted some methods which give accuracy but have high computational complexity. Specifically, the statistical methods, background subtraction, temporal differencing with the optical flow was discussed. However, these technique needs to concentrate towards handling sudden illumination changes, darker shadows and object occlusions.
So for detection and recognition we used image processing and for control movement we used controller such as Raspberry Pi etc.
Benefits of the ProjectThis Project Basic Idea which is Target Recognition and Tracking can be used for various purposes e.g In Defense Industry this system can be mounted on various Weapons For Autonomous Detection of target, tracking and Firing and those weapons can be deployed in Sensitive Areas Where Human Casualties chances are very High.
This Project Idea can be also used in University for Implementing Automatic Attendence System where a camera will recognize registered students and will mark them Present & Absent in the class.
This project can also be used for Home Safety which can Alarm the owner of the house if any unwated entity tries to breach the house area.
Technical Details of Final DeliverableOur Project will use A camera for the Video Input.After the video input it will go to image processing software where it will compare the video with images already processed and look for sudden illumination changes, darker shadows and object occlusions. So for detection and recognition we used image processing,Camera and for control movement we used controller such as Raspberry Pi. So Our Finished Project will have a System which will Recognize the target or object and after recognizing it will track the target and after tracking the mounted gun will shoot the target with the help of Raspberry Pi and servo motors
