Project Area of Specialization Artificial IntelligenceProject SummaryFrom past few years, Assistive Technology facilitates numerous physically challenged users so that they can accomplish their daily routine task easily and successfully. The spectrum of this technology lie in many disciplines and computer sciences is one of them. In computer science, it has been found that the accessibility of the electronic information is very difficult for visually impaired users. Many screen reader are available in the market but very limited work have been found for Urdu based screen readers. The aim of this project is to develop an Urdu Base Audible Web Reader for Visually Impaired Users. The basic modules of the proposed software will be Extraction, Translation and Conversion. The blend of deep learning based algorithms with web technologies enhances this project towards the successful implementation and completion. This project will not only facilitates the visually impaired user to access the web content in their natural language but also open new areas to be explored and researched.
Project ObjectivesThe basic objectives of the proposed software are
- Extraction: This module take the user input in its natural language and extracts the desired website using web and speech-to-text techniques.
- Translation: This modules uses the various machine extraction techniques(e.g. recurrent neural networks, encoding, decoding etc.). For testing purpose, 10,000 dataset has been trained in python.
- Conversion: The translated result will be converted into audible format using text-to-speech technique.
A unified processed modeling approach will be used for the development of this project. Its a web based application developed with python, Django and AI based frameworks.
Benefits of the Project- The basic aim of the project is to facilitate the visually impaired users to improve and enhance their web contents access in their natural language.
- This system will improve the quality of life of the visually impaired user by promoting a independent, stress-free and accurate accessibility of information.
- The proposed project provides a base through which more researches have been made in this discipline.
At the end of this project we will submit the code and report of the proposed solution to the university authoritires.
