Project Area of Specialization Internet of ThingsProject SummaryThe proposed project is about a bike, bicycle (or another vehicle tracking) anti-theft devised a system that helps people protect the bike from theft and helps track the stolen bike’s location using a GSM module getting SMS of longitude and latitude or Mobile App. Safety bike uses two main devices to keep the bike secured, the vibration sensor and GPS sensor. Other similar devices on market cost high and charge monthly subscription charges as well. Our proposed device has one-time costs of 5000-7000 PKR which also includes the SMS service charges.
As the report given by tribune.com.pk in 2020, motorcycle theft with an average of 85 per day in Pakistan. And 27 citizens are losing vehicles and motorcycles daily in Lahore, given the figure in the report of 24newshd.tv on 3 September 2021.
This project aims to put all these small devices into one well-connected system, which will help the bike owner have more control over the security of his vehicle. The devised system uses vibration as input to give alerts to the owner. The whole system can be divided into two main parts. The first part is about the hardware development whereby all electronics components are connected via the circuit design using the wire-wrapping technique. The second part is the software part which is to program and control the whole system. The program is written using MikroBasic, a full-featured Basic compiler for microcontroller-based systems.
In conclusion, this system is designed to enable users to have control in securing his/her bike, bicycles (or other vehicles) and also being able to find and locate them at any time using GPS receivers and mobile android applications. It costs one time if a user is not willing to register on the app. Without an app user, they have to send a blank message on the device, and there will be a message with longitude and latitude along with the link that can be opened on a google map that is open source to use.
Project ObjectivesOur main objective includes making better security devices at a meager cost.This proposed system project is about a bike (or other vehicles) anti-theft system which helps people protect the vehicle from theft and helps to track the stolen vehicle’s location using a sim mobile.
Project Implementation MethodIt goes an iterative methodology where testing is done on every step where we add any sensor to the device. On unusual activity, our proposed device gives an alert to the owner. Whenever the owner wants to receive a location, if he is not using the app interface, he has to send only a blank message to the sim used in the device and get a reply with longitude, latitude, and Google Maps link.
The whole system can be divided into two main parts. The first part is about the hardware development whereby all electronics components are connected via the circuit design using the wire-wrapping technique. The second part is the software part which is to program and control the whole system. This hardware part includes a vibrations sensor, a GPS receiver, GSM module, Neo 6M, a toggle switch, LED light, a buzzer and some other electronic parts. Wireless signals are used to communicate between the remote control or smartphone and the installed system.

- Installation and user interface are easier than other competitive devices.
User interfacing is straightforward and two-way, one through a sim and the other through an interacting app. If the person is not technical, he will go to the sim interface, where he only needs to send a blank message to receive details.
The final product that is ready to install on the vehicle consists of a square type box with three wires, two for input and one for ground. There is one extra wire for the antenna to catch network signals.
