Project Summary

The “Android Profile Changing and Location Tracking Through SMS” allow the user to automatically change the mobile profile through geofencing in the defined premises such as mosque or office, where it is necessary for the mobile to be on silent mode. The mobile profile will automatically come to its previous status when users leaves the particular place. User can also manage the mobile profile through PC. This application also enables the user to find the location of its stolen or missing mobile with or without internet. If the internet is not accessible at the mobile site, then user can get the current location information (Geocoding address) of his/her mobile phone in the form of SMS. For security purpose, user can get picture of individual who stole the mobile phone. This picture is taken at a specific angle (at which most of the people use mobile) through gyroscope sensor and the picture can be seen at the desktop application through firebase database. User can also generate the location log report.

Project Objectives

The aim and objectives of the project are:

• To provide the user an easy way to change the mobile profile automatically in defined premises.
• To manage the mobile profile through PC.
• To track the location of mobile phone with or without internet (through SMS) in case of misplacement or stolen.
• To get the picture of the user who stole the mobile phone at a specific angle (30- 60 degree).
• To generate the live location log report for security enhancement.

Project Implementation Method

The system consists of an android device that has a service always running in the background. This service continuously checks if the current coordinates are matched with the defined coordinates in the system through Geofence perimeter. When the user enters in the defined location (such as Mosque) then the mobile profile automatically sets to silent mode and it remains in the silent mode until the user leaves that place. User can set different locations on map by selecting that place on map and setting its radius and profile mode. The background service also read the message string sent by a specific user to get the current location or getting the picture from front camera. When a SMS string is received and matched with the defined string the location service in the mobile start sending the location details through Cloudways server. Firebase is used to save the bitmap in its database, and then this bitmap is loaded to picture box in the desktop application.

It also enables the user to find their lost or stolen mobile by tracking the location with or without internet. System canalso get the picture of user who stole the mobile phone at a specific angle to increase the personal security.
