Basic primary and secondary educational periods are extremely essential because they contribute significantly towards character building and aptitude development. Teachers and parents are both equally responsible in the upbringing of a child and are usually required to share this responsibility. Unfortunately in our society, their exist a lack of coordination between parents and teachers. Through this project we aim to fill this gap and enable both parties to work closely for the education and upbringing of their children. The Android companion app will serve to connect parents, teachers and other school staff to share important information regarding the progress of students, their daily activities, homework, and any concerns of the teachers or parents. Timely action to resolve such concerns will significantly improve the quality of education.
Project Objectives- Connect parents and teachers to coordinate regarding child education
- Remove the communication gap between parents and teachers and establish coordination between them for the goodwill of the students
- Allow school administrators to effectively dissiminate progress reports of students to their parents
- Enable parents to share their concerns regarding their children with their teachers or school administrators
- Allow parents to take timely action in response to any concerns raised by the teachers
We live in the world of Internet, Artificial Intelligence, and Big Data, where data is considered extremely essential for optimizing processes. Unfortunately, it becomes increasingly difficult for school teachers to record the behavior of each and every individual student and then share it with their parents via phone or email. In order to faciliate this communication, and utilize data to optimize child education, we propose to develop an Android based companion app. The project will be carried out by developing a web based server for the school administrators which will contain all the data regarding students including their registration, results, progress, parents details, and any concerns raised by the concerned teacher regarding a particular student. The Android companion app will be developed to collect and dissiminate data regarding students. The Teacher version of the app will allow teachers to record essential data regarding students in real-time (in-class). For instance, if the teacher concerned notes an observation regarding a particular student, he may record it in the system, which will automatically be shared with the parents of the concerned student. Similarly, if parents have any concerns regarding their child, they can input it into their version of the app which will be automatically shared with the concerned school teacher.
The web based server will provide analytics data regarding the overall progress of students in individual subjects. Artificial Inteliigence techniques can be employed to predict the performance of individual students based on their previous records so that special attention is given to those students. Any issue in the collective progress of students can be resolved in time.

- School administrators would be able to see overall picture of the student progress and can take immediate action whenever required.
- If the web based system is owned by the concerned government agency, it can be used to monitor the progress of individual schools.
Web based Server:
This server would be used to record data of students and their parents along with any communication that takes place between the teachers and parents and between the schools administrators regarding individual students. The database will store all this data which would be utilized by school administrators to analyze performance of their teachers and the typical concerns raised by the teachers and parents ver a specified period of time. These analytics will enable them to take timely decisions in order to improve performance.
Android Companion App
This app will be used by individual teachers and parents and would allow them to communicate directly to each other regarding individual students. Any concerns can be shared with each other so that timely action may be taken. The data collected through this app will be stored in the central database server which will then be utilized in analytics.
