Project Summary

Currently, Alzheimer’s patients rely heavily on someone that is either a family member or someone who is paid to look after them, and sometimes when their caregiver is not around. They might end up taking their medicine multiple times because they might forget if they took their medicine or not. They may become extremely confused, suspicious, fearful, or dependent on a family member. Now, here one of the application features includes appointments that will help the patient, similarly, if the patient moves out of their home in a state of forgetfulness then the caregiver will be alerted so that he or she can either contact the emergency services or get the patient themselves. With the help of the counseling feature and Gallery, they can remember their family and their brains would stay stimulated halting the progress of Alzheimer this is how our application will help, save and ease our customers.

Project Objectives

The main objective of this project is to make people suffering from Alzheimer's as independent as possible. So this project is not only about creating an application but also addresses the problem of increased dependency of Alzheimer’s patients on caregivers.

Benefits of the Project

This System will not only save the time of the caretaker but also reduce mistakes made by them. Moreover, it removes any chance of error that is very likely to be made by the patient in the absence of the caregiver. The application will help find Alzheimer’s patients in their homes and help them remember their family and friends. It will also help slow down the disease by stimulating their brains with interesting quizzes. This Application might also remove the need for a caregiver for those that have mild Alzheimer’s and thus increasing the quality of their lives.

Technical Details of Final Deliverable

The scope of the project is to assist the patient and the caregiver in such a way that the application helps; reminds the patient as well as the caregiver of the sensitive times of the pills (medicine) and also provide reminders related to, appointments, diet, and emergency contacts. The application will provide the complete medical history of the patient and also track the steps of the patient. This also covers most of the patients dealing with dementia with a few modifications but that is out of the project scope because 80% of dementia cases are of Alzheimer’s.
