Huge amount of rush plus cashier preparing the bill with barcode scanner is too time consuming and results in long ques. This innovative project consists of an automated billing system which can be placed within the shopping trolley. This automated payment system consists of a RFID reader which is controlled by Arduino. So, whenever the shopper puts any product in trolley it is detected by the RFID module and is displayed on LCD along with the price of the product. As the shopper goes on adding products, all products are detected by the module and therefore the price will increase accordingly. In case if customer changes his/her mind and doesn’t want any product added in the trolley he/she can remove it and the price added will be deducted automatically. At the end of shopping the shopper will press the button which when pressed adds all the product along with their price and gives the total amount to be paid.
Project ObjectivesWhen the customer purchased the product, he/she firsts scan the RFID tag of
the product using the RFID reader and put into the trolley. While purchasing the products
customer needs to scan the RFID tag of the product, a price of the product is taken and stored
in the system’s memory. When a person goes for shopping in any mall then he/she takes
trolley and after completed the shopping he/she has go to the counter for billing. Billing is
done with barcodes which is very time consuming process. In this technology, we require
scanning each and every item based barcode labels attached to that item. It has to done by
man power since we need to scan each label manually. And another disadvantage is that
barcode cannot read from long distance. So, our aim is to design automatic billing system
which based on Radio Frequency Identification
Project Implementation MethodThe implementation of realization of “Automated Smart Trolley with Smart Billing Using AT89S52 Controller” is implemented successfully. Without any interference between different modules in the design, the communication is properly implemented. It is designed to meet all the specifications and requirements as well.
The circuit is implemented in Orcad and on the microcontroller board. The performance of the device has been verified in both software simulator as well as hardware design. The total circuit is verified functionally and it is following the application software. Conclusions are that the design implemented in the present work provide portability, flexibility and the data transmission is also done with very low power consumption

Technical Details of Final DeliverableThe Smart Trolley features an RFID reader, LCD module. When a person places any product on the trolley, it is scanned and the product's cost, name, and expiration date are displayed. The total cost will be added to the final check out bill. The bill is stored in the microcontrollers memory
