The fire spreads so rapidly and it takes no time to cover the whole area. There are few problems arise in this situation;
1. The response time of fire brigades after informing about the situation.
2. The lives of fire fighters in case of high temperature and even presence of explosive materials.
To solve these problems, we come up with the idea that not only responds the incident very fast but also saves the many lives of fire fighters in the fire critical situations. As we have observe the few incidents occurred during the last decade in which human lives were lost, such as Baldia Town factory. To save people’s life and also save fire fighters from such disaster we need firefighting robot. Robots can help people performing certain jobs, especially in the field that requires a high degree of precision, high-risk, or a job that requires a great power. Therefore, this project idea presents the development of a firefighting robot that can be informed the presence of fire automatically and inform the robot to extinguish fire without the need of any human intervention. The electronic part is one of the vital parts in the development of firefighting robot. It includes flame sensors, Node MCU, DC motor with wheel, Servo motor and Water pump.
This project has two parts. In first part, we will develop wireless sensor nodes which will be placed at the various locations of the building using the concept of Wireless Sensor Network (WSN) technology. The single sensor node consists of flame sensor and a controller (i.e nodeMCU) and work as a client in the wireless network. In second part, robot will be built with the controller as a server. All nodes are connected using internet using the concept of Internet of Things (IoT). The robot also has motor driver (L298N) is used to activate the moving of the gear motor, flow of water starts that extinguish the fire. In this project idea, the location and path of every sensor node is known to server mounted on the robot. After getting signal, the robot starts move towards the fire through its predefined path and stop at the safe distance to the fire. When the robot reaches in the vicinity of the area then the flame sensor in the robot starts working. With the help of flame sensor the robot reach near to the fire and start extinguish the fire.
Project ObjectivesObjectives:
1. The main objective of this project is to design and implement an advanced firefighting robot that is able to monitor a prescribed area, detect for the occurrence of fire, locate for exact location of fire source, extinguish the flame and safely return to continue with the patrolling of the area once the extinguishing task is completed.
2. To obtain this goal 3 sensor nodes are also created which are connected with robot through WSN technology.
3. The implementation of this robot will increase the safety of firefighters and therefore help mitigate deaths from unsafe conditions.

In most of the offices in Pakistan, the water spray is usually used as a fire extinguisher agent to control moderate fire. This traditional practice smothers the fire at the cost of damage in terms of electronics equipment and documents located in the vicinity of the fire. To reduce the damage rate, an autonomous firefighting robot is developed that first detects fire with the help of flame sensors, then automatically reach to the fireplace and extinguishes the fire through releasing the cloud of carbon dioxide gas. Moreover, it is also capable of sending notification through sensor nodes to the concerned person or rescue departments. A series of tests have been performed on an implemented robot and the results show that it functions well as intended. In future, this solution can be converted into a firefighting drone .The use of a quad copter mechanism instead of wheel in proposed solution may play a handy role to extinguish the fire on high building with the help of remote control.
