Access the World is an android application which will recognize the text documents and detect the object from their surroundings. We know, that in every year advancement in technologies have boosted the lifestyle and also assist the daily lives of visually impaired persons. Such system will help by providing information from their surroundings such as different images,documents and their surroundings objects. The purpose of our project is to develop such application that will capture the information by uploading or just opening the camera and resulting information is converted into audio to user. Basically, we want to eliminate the need of wearable and other dedicated devices. In our projects, we will use existing technologies like OpenCV, Optical Character Recognition, and different text to speech libraries. In this way our system uses the combination Computer Vision, Image Processing, Neural Networks and these given technologies that will help the visually impaired persons to recognize the text and objects from their surroundings.
The objectives of Access the World are:
We basically follow the agile methodoly in out project. The reason is that our project will have an iteration process and whole project is divide in to many chunks. So, if any change will occur during project like changing diffeerents application system or other things, then it will be very easy to move back from previous [phase.
Our project is divide into two phases.
This projeect is designed to help the visually impaied persons. As we know that the total world ppulation is around 7.9 billion. According to WHO report around 2.2 billion peoples are visually impaired. So, if we look at this the margin is very high. So we are build such system that will be benificial fro visually impaired persons.
The final dlelivarable whould be an android and ios applictaion in which the visually impaired person will be able to detect the object and text and this detected object and text is converted to audio to end user.
