A ubiquitous computing emergency management solution for women and child safety
The aim of this project is to design a framework and develop a ubiquitous computing emergency management solution for women and child safety. Over the past few decades, women and children have been subject to harassment. Women and children find it worrisome to move on the streets freely even at odd hours.
The proposed solution comprises of two parts: (i) ‘Smart Wearable Device’ which is worn by the child. In case of emergency, the child presses the panic button, and alerts are sent to the smartphone. The application installed in the smartphone has access to GPS (global positioning service) and messaging services, which is programmed in such a way that whenever it receives an emergency alert from the child-smart band, it can send help requests along with the location coordinates. and (ii) a ‘Smartphone Android Application’ that protects women from personal threat emergency situations by preparing them for an emergency situation as well as allowing them to generate alerts & notifications to trusted resources at the time of an emergency. The project will aid women and children to overcome their fear while moving around the country.
The aim of this project is to design a framework and develop a ubiquitous computing emergency management solution for women and child safety. Over the past few decades, women and children have been subject to harassment. Women and children find it worrisome to move on the streets freely even at odd hours.
In this project, the goal is to propose a technological solution for emergency situations for women and children involving threats, harassment, and even violence. Therefore, to address this problem, a ubiquitous solution is to be proposed which involves ubiquitous devices, ubiquitous biometrics, and ubiquitous communication for transmitting crucial information to trusted resources.
The incremental model will be followed throughout the project. Incremental model is a process of software development where requirements are broken down into multiple standalone modules of the software development cycle. Incremental development is done in steps from analysis design, implementation, testing/verification, maintenance. Each iteration passes through the requirements, design, coding, and testing phases. Each subsequent release of the system adds function to the previous release until all designed functionality has been implemented. The system is put into production when the first increment is delivered. The first increment is often a core product where the basic requirements are addressed, and supplementary features are added in the next increments. Once the core product is analyzed by the client, there is plan development for the next increment.
The proposed project will deal with critical issues faced by women in the near past and will help to solve them with ubiquitous technology. This system can overcome the fear that scares every woman in the country about her safety and security. In the addition to this family, parents can easily track and monitor their child. Users will enter at least 04 trusted contacts who will be alerted during emergency situations. Users will enter a name, mobile numbers, home address, etc. Users post their videos, location on social media forums in case they face an emergency situation.
with the help of this project, the user will get help immediately.
with the help of this project, women/children will know how to deal with dangerous situations.
By using the smart band, children just need to press the button and alerts will be sent to thier parents.
For Women-15 Application we will have the following features:
Add contacts, social Aid, Defense kit, Survival Ideas, Emergency Handling situation.
The smart band that will be designed for the child to have the following features:
the child just press the button alert will send to their parents
The Hardware that is used for the smart band is:
Hardware implementation using ARDUINO, GSM/GPRS Shield, and GPS receiver, buttons, Bluetooth, OLED display, Battery, Arduino micro-controller, sensors, Wifi Module.
