A TRAINING SYSTEM FOR CARDIOPULMONARY RESUSCITATION AND BLOOD PRESSURE MEASUREMENT
Project Area of Specialization Biomedical EngineeringProject SummaryThe project is intended for training and testing the capability of medical staff while performing cardiopulmonary resuscitation and measuring blood pressure. Both of the following protocols are emergency procedures frequently performed in emergency response units of every hospital.
Project ObjectivesThe project will be able to train the medical staff of the procedures of CPR will measuring the amount of compression force and dept of compression indicating successful or unsuccessful CPR. Secondly, it will enable staff to train and test the accuracy of staff measuring analog blood pressures using a sphygmomanometer, the teaching person could select a blood pressure range and ask the staff to measure blood pressure using standardized protocols then trainer could compare both values to see the accuracy of testing staff.
Project Implementation MethodThe project will be assembled as a manikin like a human body.it will help to train medical students, nursing staff and other paramedical staff to perform and test their performance. Cpr and blood pressure measurement is critical in emergency healthcare, so trained staff will result in better performance of the procedures.
Benefits of the ProjectThe availability of such a device will enable healthcare practitioners to frequently arrange teaching sessions for repeated accuracy thus leading to improved execution of emergency protocols. It will eliminate uncertainty in the performance of medical staff thus improving the confidence of patients and management on the practitioner
Technical Details of Final DeliverableThe finalized product will be in the form of a manikin similar to the human body with two major functions: Cpr and blood pressure train and testing system. The students using it will feel like they are interacting with patients in real-time. The blood pressure and CPR protocol will be programmed according to standardized procedures.
