We are using a Smart Device that helps those enthusiasts who are not aware of the Species/Animals and unable to differentiate between different Species/Animals. For wildlife enthusiasts, pet lovers, photographers and researchers we are developing a smart device that will detect and recognize animals and will tell their species, the smart device will detect images of the animals based on information stored earlier. According to the image captured it will recognize the species of the animal. This library analyses the images into parts to compare them with the most important characteristics of the objects in the images related to the database, through which the images are compared. When ensuring that the characteristics match the mathematical equations programmed in the language of Python, the objects in the image are detected. Finally, the sound of each animal name in the database is called, and the name of animal detected is heard by the listener. Python for programming language. Numpy for numerical Python library. Newbies who have some interest in animals and are willing to find their species, this work/project will help them to find animal’s specie’s names. Those enthusiasts who are not able to recognize animal species but have curiosity of finding their information, will easily acknowledge them. We will implement Image Processing techniques to figure out Animal species.
Raspberry Pi 4 Model B that acts as a processing unit. Camera module is used for capturing the pictures of animals. Power bank of 10k mah is used for portable power supply. Speakers are used for the sound output, the name of the animal is called from the database and output from the speakers. Micro SD card is used here for memory storage/database, pictures are stored in database. Python is used as a High level programming language, the algorithms of image processing are implemented in this language. Open cv is used for image processing, images of animals captured in real time are detected and then processed.
In this project, we are focusing on animal detection using Raspberry Pi Module that act as a Processing Unit. The images of the animals are captured by Raspberry Pi Camera Module that will click the photo when the animal is detected. Those captured pictures are then stored in the database in SD card. Collection of animal images will help research students in gaining more and more animal’s information according to their interests. With the help of speaker, the individual will heard the audio output of the name of that animal detected. This sound output will assist those people who are blind but have some keenness to know about the animal species. Those newbies who are eager to gain the information of animal species, they will definitely take the benefit of our project.
