Therefore, smart farming is the solution to overcome such challenges. The traditional farming faces a lot of challenges in the developing countries therefore the tradition farming has been transformed to the smart farming. In this project we proposed cloud based internet of things (IoT) based farming model. The proposed model will provide facility to the framer such as monitoring the growth of the crops , product quality, and water management of the agriculture land. The proposed system will be low cost and implemented in real time environment. The proposed system will collect information through designated agriculture field using the following sensors
- DHT11 ( Temperature and Humidity Sensor)
- PH ( Sensor for Water Management)
- VH400 ( Soil Content moisture sensor)
- MQ135 ( Gas Sensor)
- LM35 ( Soil Temperature)
These sensors will be attached Arduino microcontroller . The sensors will report the data in real time and the recorded data will forwarded through wifi module directly ThingSpeak cloud framework. Then for monitoring and controlling the data will be analyzed through channel of ThingSpeak. The decision will considered from the rule based scenario based on the collected data. The proposed is cost effective and monitoring and controlling the agriculture filed in the real time. The open source will be share for further analysis. This research is perfectly aligned with information technology based agriculture requirement in the country. Having this smart farming solution will provide food security and overcome the shortage of the food.
Project ObjectivesThe objective of this project is to develop a smart farming system that can keep the subject aware about agriculture land, temperature & humidity, water management, soil moisture control. It can provide further awareness to the farmer during the critical situations like High gases , High temperature and humidity increasing/decreasing, using Android App/Computer.
The application of smart farming can increase the quality of crops . Further the proposed system will make life easier and avoid the shortage of food. We will design a small gadget that facilitate the user for easy portable and low cast system. Further, the system will provide email system with alert in case of any risk appear. Also, the system will have the ability to keep the records of the utilization of devices. The smart farming is a very important for controlling the agriculture based appliances. The farming automation provides many advantages such as ease of access, security, comfort, safety. This project is perfectly aligned with requirements of the Information technology based agriculture.
Project Implementation MethodSmart Farming has been divided into three broad category namely hardware, software and communication though IoT. The proposed projected integrated different modules for instance in the first phase we will used Arduino microcontroller board to control all the sensors and relevant electronic devices. The following sensors such as DHT11 ,PH , VH400 ,MQ135 LM35 are used to extract information from the agriculture field. The data collected from such sensors transferred in real time to ThingSpeak using WIFI connection . For highly integrated WIFI ESP8226, interfaced ESP8226 with Arduino microcontroller. Using ThingSpeak Cloud-based framework, the farmer remotely monitors the situation about field. . The detail architecture are mentioned in Figure - 1

The Smart Farming provides many advantages such as ease of access, security, comfort, safety, with low cost and portable gadget. Few major benefits of the projects are as under

Food Security and Improve the quality of the food
Technical Details of Final DeliverableThe proposed system will provide low cost and open source that connect all the electronic devices in one platform and provide awareness to the farmer. The proposed system will used different types of sensors for instance DHT11 ,PH , VH400 ,MQ135 LM35, and collect the data in the real time. Arduino controller will receive this data from sensors connected with ESP32. Arduino will send this data to cloud and user will receive it through Android App or computer monitoring system. Buzzer will be use as emergency alarm if the concentration of gases, temperature increases, and the user will receive an Alert message through phone or E-mail. The detail technical detail are highlight in the form of below flow diagram of the proposed system.
