Project Area of Specialization 3D/4D PrintingProject SummaryThis project was elaborated with the main aim of improving at a European dimension the quality of professional skills and personal abilities of students and young people who seek to continuously improve their vocational preparation, with the final aim to facilitate their integration on the market field. This objective will be reached by teaching our learners about 3D printer’s technology, which is for several years on the list of future trends in technology, being the third in the top ten and with a very fast growing on the market, because of the possibilities of energy and cost savings 3D printing offers limitless future innovative opportunities.
Taking in account these considerations, we think that knowing the 3D printers technology and the possibilities that they offer is a necessity for the new generation. Through this project we intend to establish a European partnership for the education and training of the young generation in order to improve at a European dimension the quality of professional skills and personal abilities of students and young people who seek to continuously improve their vocational preparation, by making them aware of the possibilities that the 3D printer offers, with the final aim to facilitate their integration on the market field.
Project ObjectivesThe process of 3D printing makes it easier for designers to create complex designs, and unlike with traditional processes, 3D printed parts and prototypes can typically be produced in hours (rather than days or weeks), allowing companies to move through design cycles faster and more efficiently.
Project Implementation MethodThe extruder consists of two main parts: 1) A Feeding Mechanism to pull in the plastic, and 2) A Hot End to melt and extrude the plastic. The Feeding Mechanism uses a clamp to grip the filament and a moving gear to pull it into the extruder.

3D printing or additive manufacturing is a process of making three dimensional solid objects from a digital file. The creation of a 3D printed object is achieved using additive processes. In an additive process an object is created by laying down successive layers of material until the object is created.
