Online shopping has become a trend in this modern age nowadays people prefer to buy products they want while sitting in the houses without making the effort to go to any store. The goal of this project is to help the customer to make better decisions by presenting them the 3D model of the products in AR. It is not only customer oriented but it will also help the sellers as part of this project consist of a semi-automatic 3D model generator which allows them to create 3D models of their products without the help of any professional.

A similar idea is in progress by shopify with the collaboration of CGTrader’s and according to their market data suggests a firm such as Shopify is far more likely to sell an item or a product that has an augmented reality experience. This visual representation is becoming increasingly significant for the mobile e-commerce market. In 2017, global mobile retail revenue amounted to $1.36 billion and it is expected to reach $3.56 billion 2021.

Major part of the world is already using e-commerce to buy products, there had been a sudden surge of customers towards e-commerce due to the presence of good quality services available for them. Most of the customers have already selected their platform for e-commerce and new customers are not plannig to use e-commerce due to risk of fraud. Nowadays selling is one thing, it has become difficult to attract customers since most of them have decided their platform for e-commerce. By providing Augmented Reality we can attract customers since it is a new thing and people's curiosity will definitely urge them to atleast visit the website whether or not it will prove beneficial will depend on how dedicated our clients are.

Project Objectives
  1. The aim of our project is to develop a web store integrated with the functionality of Augmented Reality.
  2. Develop an android app which acts as an extension of web store to display 3D models of products available on web store using Augmented Reality.
  3. To develop a semi-automatic tool to generate 3D models of products using multiple images with minimum human interaction possible.
Project Implementation Method

Since our project consist of 3 different modules each one of them require different setup. For designing the front-end of our web application html5, css3, bootstrap, java script and jQuery are used with visual studio code as editor. For the backend we have used php and the database implemented for the website is MySQL.

For android app we have used android studio in with java as programming language.

To create a 3D model, we are thinking of using photogrammetry in which multiple images of an object will be used to generate 3D model of the object using tool like meshroom.

Benefits for E-Commerce:

Augmented Reality is a current trend and it will definitely attract customers to visit the website. The decision to buy or not will be affected mostly by the price and the service provided by them. This project will help the sellers to create models of their store products and integrate with their online web store without any professional help.

Benefits for Game Developer:

The models developed by using 3D model generator will help developers to save time as they won’t have to spend a lot of time to create basic 3D models of the miscellanies’ objects used in the game.
